Were you looking for information about Avodart? Avidart is a common misspelling of Avodart.
Avodart® (dutasteride) is a prescription drug used to help reduce the size of an enlarged prostate. An enlarged prostate is also known medically as benign prostatic hyperplasia, benign prostatic hypertrophy, or BPH. Avodart works by lowering the body's levels of DHT, which is responsible for enlarging the prostate. In previous studies, men who took Avodart had significant improvement in their symptoms of BPH -- including frequent urination, incomplete bladder emptying, and having to get up to urinate frequently during the night -- compared with the men who did not take Avodart. It may take as long as 3 to 12 months of taking Avodart before results can be seen. You should seek medical attention immediately if you happen to overdose on Avodart, or if you are a pregnant woman who has taken any amount of Avodart.
