There are a few things you can do to make living with BPH easier. First, make sure to take your BPH medications. If they're not helping (or if they're causing bothersome side effects), talk to your doctor. And, speaking of your doctor, have him or her look at all of your prescription and non-prescription drugs, to see if you're taking anything that might make your BPH worse.
Second, don't drink too much late in the evening - it's especially important to avoid alcohol and caffeine in the evenings, as these tend to increase nighttime urination.
Next, find ways to relax, as stress can sometimes make BPH symptoms worse.
Also, when you're in the bathroom, take the time to fully empty your bladder (which probably takes much longer than when you were younger). And when you're out and about, use a "bathroom finder" app to avoid any emergencies.
If all else fails, you might want to consider BPH surgery. In the meantime, adult male incontinence products (like guards, shields, pads, and underwear), can be used as a stopgap solution while you are waiting for surgery or trying to find a medication that works. They're probably not your ideal solution, but they may offer some peace of mind.
