Drug Interactions With Cardura
As with any medication, drug interactions with Cardura are possible. Taking it with other medications, such as cimetidine, vardenafil, or sildenafil, can increase the level of Cardura in your blood, potentially increasing your risk of side effects, such as dangerously low blood pressure. If drug interactions with Cardura are a concern, your healthcare provider may adjust your dosages or monitor you more closely.
Cardura® (doxazosin mesylate) can potentially interact with many drugs. Some of these drugs interactions with Cardura include:
- Avanafil (Stendra™)
- Cimetidine (Tagamet®)
- Sildenafil (Viagra®, Revatio®)
- Tadalafil (Cialis®, Adcirca®)
- Vardenafil (Levitra®, Staxyn™).
Cardura Interactions Explained
The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Cardura is combined with any of the drugs listed above.
Avanafil
Taking Cardura and avanafil together may increase your risk for dangerously low blood pressure (hypotension). Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these medications as a result. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these two medications together.
Cimetidine
Taking Cardura with cimetidine can increase the level of Cardura in your blood, perhaps increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these medications or consider changing medications to prevent this interaction from occurring.
