Flomax Alternatives
Some alternatives to Flomax include watchful waiting, surgery, or other medications. Watchful waiting does not include any kind of treatment and is especially useful when there are no symptoms accompanying an enlarged prostate. Surgery is an option when there are severe enlarged prostate symptoms. Some medications that are Flomax alternatives include 5-alpha reductase inhibitors, which may take up to six months to see results, or alpha blockers, which do not reduce the size of the prostate, but can quickly relieve symptoms.

Flomax Alternatives Explained
Watchful Waiting
Watchful waiting is a commonly used medical term that refers to careful monitoring of a condition rather than using any kind of treatment. Watchful waiting is especially appropriate if a man does not have any symptoms of an enlarged prostate or if the symptoms are not too bothersome. Watchful waiting will include regular visits to your healthcare provider.
Surgery
If BPH is causing severe symptoms or if medication is not helping, surgery is an option. There are several different types of surgeries for an enlarged prostate.
