Other Alpha Blockers
It is not known if Flomax will interact with other alpha blockers. However, due to the potential for dangerously low blood pressure (hypotension), Flomax should not be taken with other alpha blockers.
 
Certain Antibiotics or Antifungals
Taking Flomax with certain antibiotics or antifungals can increase the level of Flomax of your blood, increasing your risk of Flomax side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your Flomax dosage while you are taking antibiotics or antifungals.
 
Chlorpromazine
Chlorpromazine can increase the level of Flomax in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Flomax dose.
 
Cimetidine (Tagamet)
Taking Flomax with cimetidine can increase the level of Flomax in your blood, perhaps increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these medications or suggest an alternative to cimetidine.
 
Delavirdine (Rescriptor)
Delavirdine can increase the level of Flomax in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Flomax dose.
 
Diclofenac (Cataflam, Voltaren)
Diclofenac can increase the level of Flomax in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Flomax dose.
 
Fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem)
Fluoxetine can increase the level of Flomax in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Flomax dose.
 
Imatinib (Gleevec)
Imatinib can increase the level of Flomax in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Flomax dose.
