Prostate Home > Proscar Side Effects
There are a number of side effects with Proscar that you should report immediately to your healthcare provider. These side effects have occurred in very few patients taking Proscar (less than 1 percent). For these side effects, it is difficult to tell whether the side effect is actually caused by Proscar or something else. These rare but possible side effects include, but are not limited to:
- Signs of an allergic reaction, including unexplained skin rash, itching, hives, unexplained swelling, wheezing, or difficulty breathing or swallowing
- Breast tenderness (also report any breast enlargement, breast lumps, or breast discharge)
- Testicular pain.
You may experience some or none of the Proscar side effects explained above. Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have side effects from a medicine that you have never tried.
Therefore, be sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any side effects or anything that "just does not seem right." While it may not be a side effect, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
